spray hand

One of my daughters had a friend who underwent training recently at the police Academy here in Colorado Springs. He described in great detail what the effects of pepper spray were like. Anyone who’s been through the military can tell you. But this is much more personal.

He relates that he was sprayed with OC spray as part of his training. OC stands for oleoresin capsicum, which is a derivative of cayenne pepper, one of the hottest in the world. He goes on to say it’s the worst pain that he ever experienced in is life. Prior to being sprayed they had a class where it was explained that pepper spray is 30 times hotter than a haberno pepper.

So when his turn came he went into the room and he was able to close his eyes which didn’t help. “Then I ran to the first person with the kick pad and had to open my eyes and as soon as my eyes opened-OH. MY. GOSH. The worst pain EVER, literally. It was unbelievable. Searing and burning, especially in the left eye.”

They had buckets of water and some hoses set up in a room to wash his eyes out and somebody squirted baby lotion into his hand to try and rinse it off. He had trouble breathing. But someone told him to start blinking his eyes as much is possible.

But breathing was the hardest thing he said it felt like his face was on fire like someone threw boiling water on it.

Bear in mind this is not some wimpy guy. He’s a 6’3″ and 225 pound ex football player.

When it comes to protecting yourself pepper spray products are the way to go.

When are you getting some?

If you think crime can only happen to the other guy you are wrong. The “other guy” is thinking the same thing and to him you are that “other guy”. There is a reason why they call it self defense. You have to protect yourself, your family, your home and business!!

Chances are if you are reading this that crime has touched your life in some way or you consider yourself at risk. Take the next step and do something to protect yourself! Your life and safety is worth far more than the cost of self defense course.

If you are in the market for a self defense product look for quality, effectiveness, and a biggie-LEGALITY. Stun guns are not legal in some states. Pepper sprays have restrictions in some jurisdictions. Check with your local police department first before you get one.
